This is the former home of the fire department for the Town of Marshfield.

In 1972 the Marshfield Rural Fire Association got its start. The first tanker was stored and manned at the Town of Marshfield garage north of the town hall. The Town of Marshfield obtained a 1985 Ford Tanker in 1988. In 1988 the Town of Marshfield built this firehouse south of the Town Hall.

During the early 1990’s the Town of Marshfield Fire Department and the Village of Hewitt Fire Department worked jointly, but in two stations. Town of Marshfield fire equipment was moved to the Hewitt Fire Station on August 26th, 1996. On January 1st, 1997 the Town of Marshfield and Village of Hewitt Fire Departments officially came to be the Hewitt Area Fire Department.
