Situated in one of the loveliest places in the Rockhampton Botanical Gardens is the Rockhampton War Memorial. In honour to those who sacrificed, the area is maintained all year round as one of the most beautiful gardens in central Queensland. Native and imported trees adorn the area, some of which had been grown from seeds taken from trees which grew in areas where major battles were fought during war. This is the location of the ANZAC day memorial dawn service and other events in Rockhampton, every year.
