Notwendig wurde der Neubau durch die unberechenbaren Hochwasser der
letzten Jahre. Die alte Holzbrücke war zu nahe am Ufer und bei jedem reißenden Hochwasser musste sie gesperrt werden. Die neue Brücke wurde 2008 fertig gestellt.

The reason for the new bridge, built in 2008, were high waters in last years. The old wooden bridge was too dangerous if the water was too high.

Im not sure what material the base is made of, the roof is made from wood.
