The monument is on a knoll, the highest point of the cemetery. The front of the monument reads:

"Soldiers Monument
Erected AD 1880"

On the side of the monument is the following:

"To the memory of the gallant soldiers of White Haven and vicinity who fell in the battles of the Great Rebellion and those who died since the war.

One Country, One Flag, One Destiny"
