Raymond, Washington is a town of about 2,800 residents in the rural area of Washington most known for logging, wildlife, parks and bird watching. To make the town "special", about 200 enchanting steel sculptures of people, wildlife and livestock have been placed along State Route 6 and Hwy 101, and all throughout downtown Raymond, to entertain motorists and tourtists. The sculptures were created by numerous artists and installed in 1993, and are weathered to a monotone rust color. The sculptures of people represent Loggers, Native Americans, townsfolk including children, and the animals include a draft horse, oxen, elk, and bear, beaver, various birds, a dog/wolf (being fed an ice cream cone by a child). Many of the animals are positioned in roadside vegetation, and appear to be carrying out the normal daily activities of eating, or walking.
