The milestone is on the triangular bit of grass outside Roath Library. It faces onto the A4161, Newport Road at its junction with Broardway. The milestone is marked on the 1799 map of Glamorgan.

The milestone photographed in 1891 shows the full inscription before the milestone got partially buried.

Many people probably wander past here each day without realising that this stone is indeed and ancient milestone.
