Long Description:
The statue is officially titled "The Emergence of Man Through Steel". The whole stucture stand 85 feet high, the "Iron Man" stands 36 feet tall. The sculpture was designed by artist Jack Anderson and was dedicated in 1987. The gleaming brass and copper sculpted man is that of a 1880's era iron miner.
