The house was built during the 16th Century for the master-builder André Pilarte. The facade has impressive doors and windows frames, with decorative elements of "Manuelino" style. In the second floor there is a beautiful "Renaissance" balcony with a drawing dated 1520-1540. The house was renovated in 2005 by the City.

In the second half of the 19th Century a new building was attached to the original house.
