I overlooked renewing my permanent resident card, and had to visit the Canadian Consulate General office located in Seattle.
My concern was leaving Canada, traveling to Washington to get a Visa so I could return to Canada, so I could leave Canada, travel to Missouri and return to Canada… I have since become an AmeriCanadian.
All went well; it was easier than I thought...now with my Visa nicely placed in my passport it was time to cross the border into Canada. It proved more difficult than I imagined.
"The Consulate General of Canada in Seattle represents Canada and promotes Canadian interests in one of the most technologically and economically important regions of the United States - the Pacific Northwest states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. A long shared history and deep cultural affinity in this border region fosters a Canada-U.S. relationship that runs much deeper than simple trade or border statistics. As the quote inscribed on the Peace Arch Memorial at the Blaine/Douglas border crossing proudly reminds us, we truly are "Children of a Common Mother".
