This is a fun one to catch where there IS a turnout, NO tree, good visibility, non private property etc. Mt Shasta has a volcanic history and has erupted 4 times in the past.

Mt Shasta is the second highest peak in the Cascade Range and the fifth highest peak in California. It is considered dormant for now.
There is a vehicle trail to 8,000 feet. Hikers have died on this peak when the whether changed abruptly. John Muir came close.
Hypothermia is a real threat at high elevations.
