The Place: Bob Janssen Field is located on the Cal Poly campus adjacent to Baggett Stadium where the Cal Poly baseball team plays. It is a regulation field, dirt infield and natural turf outfield maintained in immaculate conditions. The the uncovered seating area has permanent individual seats. Batting cages and pitching mounds are located near the dugouts. The field is lighted for night games.

The Person: Robert H. "Bob" Janssen, is a life long resident of the San Luis Obispo area and who has through the Robert H. Janssen Foundation, been a long time supporter of the community. Mr. Janssen and his foundation have helped to strengthen the community by supporting youth sports among other causes. This softball field adds to that legacy.
