Someone has to pay for all those highway safety lights. Oregon is working on it. It is a cooperative "Made in Oregon" project that opened January 17, 2012.

This project brought a lot of jobs to the area. It works for the environment and the Oregon Highway Dept. of Transportation.
Portland Gas & Electric buys and credits the energy. 1.97 million KW hour.s
University of Oregon was another cooperating agency.
There are 6,994 panels on seven acres. It is a huge statement
about sustainable energy and alternative funding.
