Once a year El Reno cooks and serves up the world's largest onion-fried burger. The rest of the year, there are a number of restaurants in town which serve this greasy delicacy. Sid's is the king of those places in many people's opinions.
The place has a full menu, but Team Blakelylaw doesn't have a clue what's on it. The board above the counter lists the burgers, hot dogs, fries, & shakes. That's good enough.
For the best show get their early for the Saturday show & sit at the counter, preferably directly across from the grill. The place will get super crowded because it's right on Route 66. The show put on by the grill master to keep things moving rivals a show at Benihana. Of course the locals don't hae to place orders, the folks who run the place already know what they want.
Words to the wise:
1. The place is relatively tiny. On busy days, be prepared to wait, but it's worth it.
2. Don't supersize anything. One regular order of fries is enough to feed a small army.
3. This is basic greasy food, the mark of a great onion-burger. Don't expect anything healthy.
4. There are a few outside seats.
5. In the summer, it is open till 9:00 p.m.
6. Sid's does have a web link, but it hasn't been updated since 2009, is not maintained, and is woefully out of date.
