Antioch Baptist Church - Cassville, MO - Baptist Churches on Waymarking.com

According to 100 years of the Barry County [Southern] Baptist Association (1883-1983) by Pauline Cox, this church was where the association met in 1890, so it was obviously around before that. The last mention of the church in connection with the Southern Baptist Convention is in 1944. In 1945 the association was renamed the Barry County Southern Missionary Baptist Church (until 1968). It was at that time that Antioch must have left the Southern Baptist Convention and became independent, and did not rejoin later when the name was changed back.

The church is 4.2 miles from Cassville by road, or about 2.8 miles as the crow flies. When I visited the church it was building a new larger wing, mainly for the Christian School held there. Perhaps it will be done when you visit.
