The Earth Island Institute is working to support increasing nature and art in Berkeley, California. The Streets Alive project is an effort to bring vibrant public art to utility boxes in Berkeley.

In Celebration of Berkeley Gardens is an artwork by Joanna Katz. This box is painted on all five sides and has a theme of sustainability with the design being that of a garden of flowers and vegetables grown by the artist.
