This is a raised Gazebo over looking some wetlands.
There is a 15 stair climb to the gazebo were you will find some info boards about the local wildlife.
It is a of timber construction and has just had a new iron roof installed.
A plaque on the floor reads,
HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH
WATCHED THE BIRDS OF PELICAN POINT FROM
THIS LOOKOUT ON THE MORNING OF THE 27th
OF MARCH. 1963. HE EXPRESSED THE HOPE
THAT THIS AND OTHER SUITABLE SITES IN
AND AROUND THE CITY OF PERTH WOULD BE
PRESERVED AS PERMANENT BIRD SANCTUARIES.
