This particular bridge was used a relatively short time to carry rail traffic. Built in 1988, Canadian Pacific abandoned its Chalk River subdivision in 2011 and the rails were removed in September of that year. The Brockville and Ottawa Railway (later Canada Central) first crossed this street in 1864.
