The Oistenrijck tower was part of the medieval city wall of Leiden. It was built at the end of the 15th century, ca 1485.

The rampart tower ‘Oostenrijk’ is part of the medieval city wall between the Koepoortsbrug and the Geregracht. Original there were in Leiden 33 towers like this one. In this tower there were 9 shooting holes.
The walls are 2 meters thick at the bottom and 1,80 meter at the top. The base is a half circle. The straight part is at the Jan van Houtkade.
