Escalon is a small, 7,000 souls settlement in California's Central Valley.

The sign is located at the cross of highway 120 and the track of the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway. It shows an orchard of peach trees with the slopes of the Sierra Nevada in the back. In the front are a ripe peach and a milk can - the two main products of the settlement.

Escalon proudly calls itself

"Land of Peaches and Cream."
