According to this PDF Horton School was in District 76 in McDonald County, Missouri. According to this 7 April 2011 obituary page, a Dora Helen Spaulding, born 3 October 1912, attended Horton School - to give you some idea of how long ago it was used as a school.

Today it is used as a community center, and looks like it is in excellent condition, with curtains on the windows and the lawn mowed nicely.
