Chester Arthur wasn't one of our most famous US Presidents, but given how few of them there have been, this must be considered an important site. It should also be considered simply by virtue of the elaborate burial site.

In the post -Obama election cycles, websites are fond of telling us that Chester Alan Arthur was the first US President to be accused of not being born in the US. Because his father was born in Ireland, and his family moved around a lot when he was young, it was alternately asserted that he was born in Ireland or Canada.
Description:
Chester A. Arthur was born on October 5, 1829, in North Fairfield, Vermont. Elected vice president on the Republican ticket of 1880, Arthur acceded to the presidency upon the assassination of President James A. Garfield. As president, he supported the Pendleton Civil Service Act (1883), which provided for the open appointment and promotion of federal employees based on merit rather than patronage. Arthur died in New York City on November 18, 1886.
