The McKillop Building exhibits some interesting brick work for our enjoyment. Below the dentilled cornice are several panels filled with bricks set at 45 degrees to the surroundings - an interesting effect.

From a Walking Tour of Nelson’s Heritage Buildings, number 12.

This Early Victorian style building was constructed for Alexander McKillop, a mineral assayer and one–time alderman. The corniced parapet includes finials and decorative brick panels. Note the Spokane Iron Foundry stamp on the central column.
