St Meinrad Archabbey is located in the small town of St. Meinrad, IN. It is located either Hwy 62 or off of Hwy 545. There is no missing this massive church, school, and monastery when you enter the town of 800 people.
St Meinrad monastery has been around in 1854 by monks from Einsiedeln Abbey in Switzerland to serve the local German-speaking population. Today, near 100 Benedictine monks reside at the archabbey.
The archabbey has a school of theology and a graduate seminary. They specialize in raising and training men for the priesthood.
There are different tours and visits allowed at the archabbey. The website for the location has phone numbers to call to set up a visit or tour. Prayer and mass are always open to visitors as well.
