The staff here at the Thomas P. Stafford Museum are great, and the prices are quite reasonable considering the fantastic collection of Air and Space memorabilia and replicas. I recommend allowing about two hours to walk through the exhibits in the museum, maybe a little more if you would like to use the flight simulator.
The Stafford Air and Space Museum is located at the Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Stafford Airport Complex, and boasts 40,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space. The facility is closed major holidays.
General admission is $7/adults; $5 seniors and military; $2 Students
Discounts are offered to those who fly-in to visit the museum. Planetarium shows are available for a small extra charge.
The first room of the museum (after the lobby) runs alongside the entrance to the airport. This very large room has an amazing display of plane replicas, model airplanes, and exhibits telling about the history of flight. Just past this room is a theater that shows movies you do not want to miss. One is a very funny movie about the mishaps in the development of flight, showing video of many failed attempts (all a learning lesson for future aviators).
The next room shows replicas of space rockets, and also has some fantastic artifacts from space missions, including the Apollo-Soyuz rendezvous led by Gen. Thomas P. Stafford.
The museum offers a private party room, complete with tables for food, and flight simulators for guests.
