Inside the station, however, are some state of the art fire fighting vehicles. Among them is this Superior Pumper of relatively recent vintage. It is built on a Spartan chassis. It sits at the front, ahead of another pumper, awaiting its next call to duty.

We arrived at Nelson Fire Hall No. 1 to view the museum, which is attached to the south side of the fire hall. The fireman on duty was washing the ladder truck at the time and kindly allowed us to not only browse the museum at our leisure, but also to photograph the new equipment, as well.
