Luby (German: Schönbach) is a small town in the Czech Republic. It lies close to Czech-German border in region with a long tradition of violinmaking.
After WWII most of the the German population was evicted from Czech Republic. Many of them did not forget about Czechia and especially their descendants often visit the land of their ancestors.
They also often contribute to the restoration of this region.
An example of such support is the renovation of Marian Column in Luby.
