Made in Boston, Massachusetts, this cannon was ordered by the North on September 8, 1862 and inspected by the ordinance officer, Thomas J. Rodman. The barrel weighs 1220 lbs. and has a 5 inch bore and a hausse seat on top of the breech for a pendulum sight.
The cannon are on the grounds of historic Fort Steilacoom in a small covered area near the eastern entrance.
