The tower is located on East Walnut Street between 3 Notch Road and North Oak Street. It is easy to spot. It is also a benchmark, under the PID of BT2194, first used for survey purposes in 1943.
The 1943 description from the datasheet reads:
01/01/1943 by CGS (FIRST OBSERVED)
DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1943 (GWL) THIS INTERSECTION STATION IS THE TROY MUNICIPAL STANDPIPE WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE S SIDE OF E WALNUT STREET, JUST E OF N 3 NOTCH STREET. IT IS A SILVER STEEL STRUCTURE ABOUT 110 FEET HIGH. THE CENTER OF THE TOP WAS THE POINT OBSERVED UPON.
