This is one of only two ferries operated by the California Department of Transportation. It connects two of the largest island in the delta, Grand Island and Ryer Island.

A ferry has operated at this site since 1897 and the current craft, named J-Mack has been in service for 44 years.

The ride across the Steamboat Slough only takes two minutes.

Added Bonus: There is a geocache (visit link) hidden on board the ferry! The captain knows all about it, but will not tell you, where it is.
