This one has an accompanying zinc footstone as well. It says:
W.M. Ray,
Born
March 5, 1855,
[Depiction of a wooden cross, wrapped in what appears to be ivy.]
Died
May 8, 1902.
A happier lot than ours and a larger light surrounds thee there.
The monument itself bears the family name, Ray, on both sides, with roses adorning the top perimeter. Face one has a plate with this inscription:
W.M. Ray,
Born
March 5, 1855,
Died
May 8, 1902
O, for the touch of a
vanished hand,
And the sound of a
voice that is still.
Face two features a tablet with the letters HTWSSTKS, which stands for "Hiram The Widow's Son Sent To King Solomon." There's a Freemason, probably of high rank, buried here.
Face three is practically identical to face one, and features another inscription:
W.M. Ray,
Born
March 5, 1855,
Died
May 8, 1902.
How sad our home
bereft of thee.
Face four features the compass and square of the Freemasons.
