The box appears to be popular and well used judging by the missing paint at the bottom of the mouths. The left opening is for "Stamped Mail" and the right for "Meter Mail". At some point in the near past the box has been given a good sand blast to remove generations of old paint. This has made the manufacturers name, on the base, easy to read.
