This railroad overpass was built in 1958 when the T&P railroad tracks still passed over the road next to these turn-of-the-century warehouses. It replaced a smaller bridge when State Highway 70 beneath the bridge was widened. Once the railroad tracks were removed decades later, this bridge was orphaned.
It now serves as a pedestrian dirt footpath along Ave A (also known as El Paso Street) near downtown Sweetwater.
