Scottburgh is a safe bathing beach with shark nets in place and lifeguards on duty all year round. The beach is situated on the South Bank of the Mpambinyoni River, a short river that culminates in a lagoon.
The beach is close to many restaurants, bars, curio shops, surf shops, ice-cream shops and takeaway outlets. There are toilets at the beach and parking space is available on the beach front. Access to the beach is free.
No dogs are allowed on the beach.
The beach is popular all year round with sea water temperatures in the range of 20 to 22°C in the coldest months of July/August and peaking at 25 to 27°C in summer.
