The hospital of Laufen is the general district hospital of Laufen with 90 beds and about 200 employees.
The hospital of Laufen was founded 1869. Joseph Conrad Gabriel Feninger donated all his property to the municipality with the obligation to found a hospital. The Feninger hospital opened in 1872 in the old town; this building is now the town hall.
Plans for a new building started already in 1907, but the financial funding was not ready before 1942, and it took another eight years until the groundbreaking ceremony in January 1950.
The new location opened in 1953 and was extended in the 1980s and 1990s.
When the district Laufen changed to the canton Basel-Land in 1994, the Feninger hospital was integrated into the public hospitals organization of Basel-Land and changed the name to Kantonsspital Laufen.
