The first Jockvale school was a log structure built in 1841. This brick building was last used as a school in 1965. In the 1970s, the West Carleton Museum organization attempted to lease the building for a museum but the plan was rejected by the township of Nepean. In the twenty-first century, the building hosts the Lions Club and the South Nepean Muslim Community.
Apparently, current custodial staff suspect that the building is haunted. See the web site below.
