The flag is rectangular in shape and the background colour is white. The top left corner of the flag has a red and blue square. The colours are divided vertically with red being at the hoist side. Across the square are three golden shapes that join where the red and blue meet. The figures on the red are the front end of three lions with their front legs extended and their heads turned to the front. On the blue section are the sterns of three ancient ships but they may be representations of Dover castle. Along the lower edge of the flag is a blue strip and at the top right is a green strip. There is no wording on the flag.
