Der var en kone på landet...
Sådan starter H.C. Andersens digt, Konen med æggene, hvori konen i sin iver taber alle æggene i kurven og dermed udsigten til rigdom.
Konen med æggene er skabt af kunstneren Robert Lund-Jensen. Skulpturen er oprindelig placeret i Rådhushaven foran rådhuset i den tidligere Hasseris Kommune, der blev indlemmet i Aalborg Kommune i 1970. Idag benyttes bygningen af et advokat firma, men der er stadig offentlig adgang til haven foran bygningen.
Oprindeligt var skulturen tænkt som en gave til Gl. Hasseris Skole fra Hasseris Kunstfond. Da en tilbygning på skolen ikke var færdigbygget da skulpturen blev leveret i 1962 blev den midlertidigt placeret foran Hasseris Rådhus. Senere, da byggeriet var færdigt, var bydelens borgere blevet så glade for den lille kone at den fik lov til at blive stående i rådhus haven.
A woman lived at the country side...
Thus begins Hans Christian Andersen's poem, The Woman with eggs, in which the wife in her eagerness loses all the eggs in the basket and thus the prospect of wealth.
The Woman with eggs are created by the artist Robert Lund-Jensen. The sculpture was originally placed in the City Hall garden in front of the city hall in the former Hasseris municipality, which was incorporated in Aalborg municipal in 1970. Today the building is used by a law firm, but the garden in front of the building is still open to the public.
The sculpture was originally intended as a gift for Gl. Hasseris Skole from Hasseris Arts Foundation. As an extension of the school was not completed when the sculpture was delivered in 1962 a temporarily location in front Hasseris City Hall was selected. Later, when the construction was finished, the district's residents have come to appreciate the little wife and she was allowed to stay in the town garden.
