Thorsby is a small town of about 1800 residents and located in Chilton County. It was first settled in 1895 by people of Scandinavian origin. The original founders of Thorsby were three Swedes, Theodore T. Thorson, John F. Peterson, John E. Hedberg, and a Norwegian, K. G. Faegre. The town was eventually named Thorsby by combining the name “Thorson” and the suffix “by”, which means town in Swedish.
