Catarina de Bragança (1638-1705) was born in Portugal, in the royal family of Bragança (which actually was the last dynasty in Portugal, who ruled the country until the Republican coup of 1910).

By marriage she became queen of England, between 1662 and 1685.

The bust is located in a back entrance of the Portuguese Military Academy, not far from the center of Lisbon.
