Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge is a 2,000 acre state owned wildlife refuge located in Fairbanks, Alaska just north of the city center on College Road.
While visiting I got to see Canadian Geese, Northern Pintails, what appeared to be Shovelers as well as a whole group of Sandhill Cranes. The volunteer at the Farm House Visitor center said it had been about 5 years since they had seen such a large group of cranes.

There are many, many trails around and through the Wildlife Migratory Refuge. The trails in the actual refuge are closed to the public during the migration season but never fear the predominant amount of birds land on the flats that are readily viewable from the edges of the field.
There are quite a few informational signs all around the refuge to let a visitor know just what kind of birds frequent the fields every year as well as about what time of the year these transit visitors show up
