Davis Lake Provincial Park is a Class 'A' park but is definitely neglected by the financially stretched BC Parks office. And the area around McDonald Falls reflects this. In 2002 BC Parks produced a management plan (
visit link) to deactivate the trail that descends the hillside beside McDonald Falls. The authority never got to doing this allowing for some steep and rough, yet full access to the waterfall almost the whole down.
The falls are are real joy to clamber down beside them and it gives the hiker a full appreciation as to the height of the falls and the roughness of the terrain in this area.
