The flag of the City of Grand Forks, BC, contains the municipal coat of arms which features the West Kootenay Mountains, wheat fields, which represent agriculture, pine trees, representing forestry and a mining cart set against a red triangle representing copper mining. The depiction of the sun above the name suggests the location of the City in the “Sunshine Valley”.

The motto “Divitiae ex Solo” means "riches from the soil", referring to agriculture and mining, the two major industries of the valley since its settlement.
