This Active Rail Location is located on the north side of Interstate Highway 80, just west of the junction with Utah Highway 201 at Exit 102 northwest of Magna, Utah.

This location has got a lot to recommend it plus a few drawbacks. It is easy on and off from the interstate. Two main lines carry a lot of traffic out of Salt Lake City. The mainline to just north of this pullout continues on westward across the Salt Flats and through northern Nevada. The tracks to the south, pictured here, carry traffic southward through Utah and on to Las Vegas. There are several historical markers to peruse when no trains are passing and the views of the Great Salt Lake can be awe inspiring.
There are no restrooms here nor sources of food and beverages although those amenities are available a few miles west at Exit 99 on the Interstate.
