Stochov is a town in the Central Bohemian Region, Czech Republic.
Stochov is mentioned for the first time in 1316. It used to be a small village until the second half of 20th century, when a large housing estate was built west of Stochov to accommodate the increasing number of people working in coal mines in the Kladno area in the 1950s and 1960s. Subsequently, Stochov gained town status in 1967.
According to legend, Saint Wenceslas was born in Stochov and his grandmother Saint Ludmila then planted an oak tree to commemorate this event. The aged and half withered oak tree, estimated to be about 1 000 years old and called Saint Wenceslas' Oak (Svatováclavský dub), is the main sight of the town.

Ve své nejstarší historii je obec spjata s panovnickým rodem Premyslovcu. Podle povesti se zde mel narodit kníže sv. Václav, a to roku 903. Povest dále uvádí, že na míste sídla, v nemž se sv. Václav narodil, zasadila v den jeho narození jeho babicka sv. Ludmila dubovou ratolest, z níž vzrostl mohutný strom, který stále stojí na stochovské návsi.
Václav Hájek z Libocan uvádí ve své Kronice ceské stochovský hrad jako sídlo Neklanovo již k roku 870. Skutecne nejstarší písemná zmínka o Stochove pochází ale až z roku 1316. Osídlení místa je však mnohem staršího data, jak dokazují archeologické nálezy z doby keltské.
