One of the most widely used training aircraft of WW II, The PT-17 is a variant of the PT-13 biplane trainer of the late 1930s. The Kaydet was used by the U.S. Navy, USAAF, Great Britain, Canada, and other Allied countries. A total of 10,346 PT-17s were built before production ended in 1945. The Kaydet is a sturdy, Maneuverable and stable aircraft.
This aircraft was donated to the Air Force by Dr. W. T. Pumpelly and family. It is on loan to Hill Aerospace Museum from the National Museum of the United States Air Force.
