Rectangular single cell plan with entrance at east end and Sunday School at the west end. Neo Classical style.

3-bay east end with brick pilasters with plain capitals supporting entablature with large moulded cement pediment with circular ventilator and plaques inscribed ZOAR CHAPEL in tympanum; panelled double doors with raised panel above in central bay and tall 15-pane sashes in flanking bays. 7-bay right hand return (north) with similar sashes with brick pilasters between supporting brick entablature on similar brick pilasters, the right hand part of gable recessed and with lean-to entrance. Lantern on ridge of Sunday School.

Interior: Plastered arcaded walls. Arch braced roof trusses on corbels with metal tie-rods. Panelled rostrum at west end with rail in front with cast-iron balustrade. Benches with shaped ends. Panelled internal porch at east end. Two wall tablets, one of which is to I.C Johnson, who was responsible for the plans and erection of the chapel. Johnson was a manufacturer of Portland cement and founder of the cement works at Greenhithe."

The church's website tells us:

"We are a group of people who worship Jesus Christ as our king and saviour. We want to grow together as God’s family and share the good news of Jesus Christ in the community around us. Since we believe God has spoken to us in his word, Bible teaching is an important part of our meetings. You will find all sorts of people at Hope Church from all kinds of backgrounds. You are very welcome to come and join us.

We believe it is important to work together with other like-minded churches. We are part of the Association of Grace Baptist Churches (SE) and the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC).
