[DE] Dieser zweigeschossige Fachwerkbau ist nach Oberforstrat Georg Ludwig Hartig benannt. Auf der 1906 angebrachten Plakette steht: "Georg Ludw. Hartig, der Begründer einer geordneten Fortswirtschaft, Oranischer Oberforstrat und späterer Kgl. Preussischer Oberlandforstmeister, leitete von 1797-1806 in dieser Stadt und zuletzt in diesem Hause die erste deutsche Forstschule."
[EN] This two-storey timber-frame building is named after Oberforstrat Georg Ludwig Hartig. The plaque which was attached in 1906 reads: "Georg Ludw. Hartig, the founder of an organised forestry, Oranischer Oberforstrat and later Royal Prussian Chief Inspector of Forests, directed from 1797-1806 in this town and eventually in this house the first German forestry school."
