This big, approximately two meters tall monument was placed at a small green area at the beginning of the small village Milse, located close to Bielefeld.
The main inscription reads: (translated)
"1939 IN MEMORIAL 1945 FOR THE FALLEN AND MISSED PEOPLE IN WORLD WAR 2".
(German: "1939 ZUM GEDÄCHTNIS 1945 DER IM 2. WELTKRIEG GEFALLENEN u. VERMISSTEN")
The smaller inscription reads: (translated)
"They gave their life. Their everything their blood. They gave it. With holy courage. For us."
(German: "Sie gaben ihr Leben. Ihr Alles ihr Blut. Sie gaben es hin. Mit heiligem Mut. Für uns.")
On the memorial itself are the names of all Milse soldiers that went missing or fallen during the time.
