The village Malé Svatonovice, popularly called Spring (healing spring), is located at the foot of the Jestrebí Mountains (Hawk hills) at an altitude of 450 m above sea level, about 15 km south-east of the district main town Trutnov and approximately 3 km northeast of the Town Úpice.The history of the Village are inseparable with mining. 400 years of mining reminds instructional demonstration boards and former mine Catherine above the square.
The Village has a rich cultural and sporting tradition. In 1890 in Malé Svatonovice famous writer and journalist Karel Capek was born and there is Museum of Capek brothers in his birthplace house at the square since 1946. It consists of two separate exposures - exposures about Karel Capek´s life, work, publications, personal correspondence, family photos. Josef Capek exposure on the second floor consists of a representative set of twenty oil paintings, unique profile of the works of Josef Capek from the beginning through the creation of Cubist period to the anti-fascist. There are also presented graphics, creation of literary and biographical data.
Visitors to Malé Svatonovice can walk to the top of the Jestrebí Mountains Žaltman hill(739 m). There is built metal lookout tower with a view on a whole "Krakonos garden"(Giant Mountains), which profoundly influenced in the work of Capek brothers.
Just the monument to Capek brothers located on the village square is a motif of tourist stamp dedicated to the beatiful place.

Malé Svatonovice, lidove zvané Studánka, jsou obcí s cca 1500 obyvateli, kteriu se nachází ve východních Cechách v podhurí Krkonoš zhruba na polovine cesty mezi Trutnovem a Náchodem.
Bývalá hornická obec s cernouhelnými doly (Východoceské uhelné doly s.p.), které zde ukoncily svou cinnost v roce 1991. Krásná príroda na úpatí Jestrebích hor s nejvyšší horou Žaltman a rozhlednou.
Obec byla známá po širokém okolí svými poutemi (viz. Babicka - Božena Nemcová) Jsou také rodištem Karla Capka, kterého pripomíná muzeum v jeho rodném dome na námestí, s nejvetší sbírkou originálu obrazu jeho bratra Josefa Capka.
Práve bronzové sousoší obou bratru umístené na hlavním námestí je motivem turistické známky venované tomuto krásnému koutu Ceské Republiky.
