The plaque on the bridge reads:

CANTRALL BRIDGE
1960

UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT
OF THE INTERIOR
BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT
THIS BRIDGE IS NAMED IN HONOR
OF THE PIONEER
CANTRALL FAMILY, AND IS
DEDICATED TO THE COORDINATED
MANAGEMENT OF ALL RESOURCES
OF FARM AND FOREST.

There's also a park named after this family, the Cantrall Buckley State Park just past this bridge, although in much need of repairs and updating. John and Sarah A. Cantrall are the pioneer couple this plaque is dedicated to. They had 12 children (wow!) and settled in a nearby town called Buncom, now a ghost town, which is comprised of three remaining structure that are maintained by a local historical society.
